Born in 2000, Sun Yingsha became the first post-2000 women's singles world No. 1 in 2022, won the Worlds title at Durban and Doha, took mixed-doubles and team gold with singles silver at Paris, and completed a World Cup three-peat in 2026.
The World Team Championships returned to London; China beat Japan 3-0 (men) and 3-2 (women), men's team claiming a 12th consecutive title.
