How to read the news: five categories, what each is for
A navigation page for the news section. What the five categories (Tournaments, Team China, Stars, Equipment, Rules & Reform) cover, why they are ordered that way, and how often news is updated.
This section collects the important stories from inside and around the table tennis world. Articles are filed under five categories, ordered from what readers care about most — who won — to slower background pieces.
- Tournaments — The events just played: who won, the scores, and what was worth watching. The most time-sensitive, and usually why most people land here.
- Team China — Where the Chinese national team stands: the generational handover, squad changes, and how the key pairings are trending. The piece of the section this site’s core readers should watch most.
- Stars — A single-player feature: their path, their game, and their situation, not just one match.
- Equipment — Blades, rubbers, and the gear trends under the 40+ ball. It echoes this site’s gear content but leans toward industry movement.
- Rules & Reform — Changes to formats, Olympic events, and ranking rules. Low frequency, but long-lasting in effect; for those who want to understand why the game is played the way it is.
News is different from “Technique” and “Gear” — it flows. Written right after a match, dated the moment it lands. So this section does not aim to be a complete system; it only tries to make the things worth remembering clear. To learn the game systematically, go to the Technique and Gear sections; to see what happened this week, stay here.
