Career and key moments
At the 2021 Houston World Championships she won women’s singles and moved firmly into the core of the Chinese women’s team. She went on to win women’s team gold at the 2020 Tokyo and 2024 Paris Olympics and the women’s team title at the 2026 London World Championships; at the 2025 Doha World Championships she and Kuai Man won women’s doubles, and the same year she took women’s singles at the Shenzhen Asian Cup. At the end of 2025, at the WTT Finals in Hong Kong, she won all six matches to defend her women’s singles title and rose to world No. 2. She is especially reliable against foreign opponents, one of China’s first choices against Japanese players in team events.
What she left the game
She represents the new generation’s “hard-skill” route in Chinese women’s table tennis: no tricks, just every part of the game trained until it can be used.
