Tibhar Evolution MX-P Review: Tenergy-Class Speed at Half the Price
Tibhar Evolution MX-P uses a RED POWER hard sponge and is among the fastest European tensors, often pitched as the affordable Tenergy 05 alternative. This review draws on UltraSpin, TopSpin11 and others to explain its character and weaknesses.
One-line verdict
If you want Tenergy 05’s spin and speed but only half the budget, Tibhar Evolution MX-P is the natural stepping-stone — crisp and supportive, good on both wings; just heavy, hard, and quick to lose its fresh bite.
Specs (official)
- Tech: RED POWER high-tension hard sponge (46–48°) + grippy topsheet
- Community ratings (TopSpin11): Speed 9.5/10, Spin 10/10, Control 7/10
- The fastest, most dynamic sheet in the Evolution family; used by pros like Paul Drinkhall
Hands-on
MX-P’s calling card is a crisp “click” and a pronounced catapult that rewards full, aggressive swings. It runs a touch faster and harder than T05 with a lower throw, but matches the spin on engaged strokes, and actually beats T05 on the short game, blocks and serve return — looping around 95% as well. The price is physical and technical: it is heavy, the sponge is stiff, and passive contact feels wooden. Like most tensors, the bite fades after 4–6 weeks of heavy use, though speed holds longer.
How it compares
- Cheaper European tensor? MX-P is the direct T05 rival.
- Pairs best with stiff offensive blades like Viscaria.
- Want softer and more forgiving? Same-family MX-S or Yasaka Rakza 7.
Buying advice
Intermediate attackers who loop and drive on both wings and want top speed without flagship pricing. Beginners and control-first players should look elsewhere.
